Informal reception after the seminar

Presentation (the seminar is held in English)
Karin Kukkonen presents her project on eighteenth-century fiction. We will explore significant changes in the prose style of novelists across the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in order to develop a perspective on how novels become immersive. Translations from the French, engagements with the theatre and practices of writing diaries and letters are all considered in this attempt to investigate how the novel turns into the genre that we know today.
